Best Beaches in Marbella for a Day with Your Crochet Bag
I have lived in Marbella long enough to know which beaches are worth your time. Some are packed and loud. Others are quiet, with good sand and space to breathe. If you are bringing your crochet bag for the day, you want the second kind.
Playa de Venus
Right next to the Old Town. Dark sand, calm water, and enough restaurants nearby that you never have to go far for lunch. It gets busy in summer, but early mornings are peaceful. Bring your Sky Blue Crochet Tote packed with sunscreen and a book.
El Faro Beach
Near the lighthouse. Smaller than Venus but cleaner and less crowded. The promenade behind it is lovely for a walk after swimming. This is where I go when I want to work on a new design by the water.
Cabopino
A twenty-minute drive east. Quieter than central Marbella, with dunes and natural surroundings. The sand is softer here. If you want a beach day that feels like an escape, this is it.
Nagüeles Beach
Between Marbella and Puerto Banus. Long, wide, and usually less crowded than the central beaches. Good for families. The water is cleaner here and there is plenty of room to spread out.
Playa Real de Zaragoza
My personal favourite. Clean, well-maintained, and the chiringuitos are some of the best on the coast. Grilled sardines and a cold drink while watching the sea. That is the Marbella I know.
What to bring
Sunscreen, a book, water, a towel, and something to carry it all in. A crochet tote is perfect for this - it is light, breathes well, and does not get ruined by sand. Shake it out and it is good as new.
FAQ
Which Marbella beach is least crowded?
Cabopino and Nagüeles are usually quieter than the central beaches.
Is the sand dark on all Marbella beaches?
Mostly yes. The Costa del Sol has darker sand than the Caribbean-style beaches further east.
Can I bring a crochet bag to the beach?
Of course. Cotton crochet bags handle sand well. Shake them out and spot clean if needed.
